I have 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
I came to SBYCamp for the first time in 1961 as a camper. It was the first year I was old enough, and I never missed Camp until I was 17.
I have been a camp counselor since 1974, and I served as Music Camp Dean from 1999-2002 before moving out of state.
SBYC is holy ground. I have seen lives changed, both adults and children over the years. This is a place where we can retreat from all the noise of the world and be still enough to listen for the voice of God.
Music Camp is intense. We learn and perform a musical in just one week! It takes concentration, dedication, and a desire to glorify God by the campers and counselors to bring this testimony to our family and friends at the performance.
I have been involved with SBYCamp for 50 years. I came as a camper in 4th or 5th grade. I have come back as a camper or counselor ever since!
I have been involved in music ministry in every church I’ve been a part of, and I’ve helped lead youth groups as well. At music camp, we have a theme and learn a musical based on the theme we study during the week.
Our camp is unique because we sing and do drama all day long. We always seem to be in a spirit of worship as we sing and learn the songs.
Camp is extremely important to learn about God and to build relationships that last a lifetime! I love the atmosphere of Music Camp. God is on the move here!
